Basic Spanish Communication for Construction

Instructor: Dr. Emily Mello, Spanish Teacher

Dr. Mello has worked as a Spanish Teacher for 25 years, teaching all levels of Spanish- from first-year beginning Spanish to Advanced Placement college-level Spanish. She taught in a wide range of schools throughout Baltimore County before transferring to another system. She studied Spanish for 10 years before earning her B.A. in Spanish. Dr. Mello has a master's in education and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction.

Learn Basic Spanish in Four Sessions!

Improving your communication skills will help you become more productive and reduce miscommunication in the office and on the job site. 

You will learn to communicate with Spanish-speaking individuals via a variety of methods including powerpoint presentations, repetition of vocabulary, practice conversations, application of grammar, and speaking practices with the instructor. Whether you are in the front office, in the field or making business connections, you'll gain confidence and improve your communication in your daily interactions.

• Basic conversational communication in Spanish
• Construction trade-specific vocabulary
• Counting and identifying numbers
• Spelling
• Pronunciation
• Listening comprehension
• Reading basic information in the language

Four Sessions:

• July 10 8:30- 10:30 am
• July 17 8:30- 10:30 am
• July 24 8:30- 10:30 am
• July 31 8:30- 10:30 am
