ABC of Metro Washington’s legislative committees track proposals across every jurisdiction we serve, communicate the chapter’s position to elected officials, and build the relationships that keep the merit shop’s voice heard.
The Montgomery County Legislative Committee reviews legislation introduced to determine what impact, if any, it has on ABC members and the construction industry. It communicates the position of the chapter on these proposals to the members of the County Council and lobbies accordingly, and works to establish and enhance relationships with the County Executive, the Executive’s staff, department and agency heads, members of the County Council and their staff.
The Prince George’s County Legislative Committee reviews legislation introduced to determine what impact, if any, it has on ABC members and the construction industry. It communicates the position of the chapter on these proposals to the members of the County Council and lobbies accordingly, and works to establish and enhance relationships with the County Executive, the Executive’s staff, department and agency heads, members of the County Council and their staff.
The DC Legislative Committee reviews legislation introduced to determine what impact, if any, it has on ABC members and the construction industry. It communicates the position of the chapter on these proposals to the members of the City Council and lobbies accordingly, and works to establish and enhance relationships with the Mayor, the Mayor’s staff, department and agency heads, members of the City Council and their staff.
The Maryland Joint Legislative Committee reviews legislation introduced during the 90-day session of the Maryland General Assembly to determine what impact, if any, it has on ABC members and the construction industry. It communicates the position of the committee to the appropriate General Assembly committee and lobbies accordingly, and works to establish and enhance relationships with the Governor, the Governor’s staff, department and agency heads, members of the General Assembly and their staff. The Joint Legislative Committee enables all four Maryland ABC chapters to have one voice in Annapolis.
