What is the biggest misconception about the industry?
One misconception about our industry is that buildings are commodities.Construction is very much a service industry where each project is custom and relationships with all project stakeholders is essential.
What is your biggest current challenge at work?
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought on new challenges for DAVIS just as it has for everyone. We’re adapting the way we work to protect our employees, families and partners while continuing to fuel the economy and keep people employed through our construction operations.
What project is your company most proud of?
It’s dificult to choose just one! With our portfolio spanning over 10 diverse market sectors, each project we build is unique with it’s own challenges that lead to an incredible end product. At DAVIS, we have a genuine passion for giving back to our community and have established long-term and meaningful relationships with many nonprofit organizations and community groups. We are most proud to see how donations of skilled labor, in-kind services, and financial contributions benefit these organizations, and more importantly, how our support promotes real change in the lives of thousands of people.
How does your ABC membership help your company?
ABC provides great opportunities for our employees to connect with others in the industry, specifically our subcontractors. ABC is constantly putting on events for people of all levels in their careers, providing both networking and learning opportunities that continue to help our employees with their professional growth.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A golf course designer.
