Joint Public Hearing on Bill 21-023 on February 9
On Monday, February 9, 2015 the DC City Council's Committee on Business, Consumer, and Regulatory affairs along with the Committee on Finance and Revenue and the Committee on the Judiciary will hold a joint public hearing on Bill 21-023 the Marijuana Legalization and Regulation Act of 2015 and Bill 21-025 the Prohibition of Pre-Employment Marijuana Testing Act of 2015. The legislation if passed would legalize the possession, consumption, display, purchasing, or transporting of marijuana and marijuana-infused products for personal use, not in public, for persons over the age of 21. In addition the legislation would amend Title 18 of the D.C. Municipal Regulations to adjust allowances of THC concentration while operating a motor vehicle and prohibit employers from testing potential employees for marijuana use during the hiring process, unless otherwise required by law.
