Wrap-Up Insurance Programs: OCIP vs CCIP: What Is the Difference?

FREE LUNCH & LEARN

Presented by: Charlotte Davis, AssuredPartners

Find out more about Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP) and Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs (CCIP) and how that impacts you and your projects.

OCCIP (Owner Controlled Insurance Program) is a centralized insurance program where the project owner provides insurance coverage for all contractors and subcontractors working on a construction project. Whereas CCIP (Contractor Controlled Insurance Program) is a similar program but managed and purchased by the general contractor instead of the project owner.

In this lunch and learn, you’ll:

  • Understand what OCCIP and CCIP are, and how each program is structured.
  • Learn who controls each program and the implications for owners, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Compare the types of insurance coverage typically included in OCCIP vs. CCIP.
  • Explore how each program handles risk allocation and claims management.
  • Review how costs are distributed and potential savings or expenses for each party.
  • Identify who manages the program and the administrative burden involved.
  • Understand how each program affects project coordination and insurance compliance.
  • Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of each program from various stakeholder perspectives.
