Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Metro Washington Chapter is pleased to sponsor the virtual Construction Trade Foundation’s Career Fair on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. The virtual career fair will take place on the site www.airmeet.com.
Thomas Edison High School of Technology and the new Seneca Valley High School are the only vocational programs offering training in the construction trades and design in Montgomery County. Their programs include architecture (including AutoCAD), carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, and electrical. Students who complete their program have OSHA 10 training and the equivalent of one year of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) apprenticeship training.
As the construction industry faces an increasing shortage of skilled labor, it is incumbent upon all of us to encourage and promote programs like the Edison School of Technology and Seneca Valley HS. We invite you to participate, interview students, and meet the teachers of the program. In addition to opportunities to hire new graduates for full-time positions, we encourage you to consider hiring a rising senior as a summer intern to expose them further to our industry. Additional details are below.
