#4: Navigating the Impact and Negotiating for the Future – Labor and Material Escalation

One of the most volatile issues facing contractors today is how to protect themselves against and recover for unexpected, rampaging material and labor escalation. Not only are contractors learning to navigate these impacts on current projects, but contractors are also negotiating future contracts to shift the risk of labor and material escalation. During this session:

  1. You will learn about force majeure and price escalation clauses, including what they are, how they work, and their impact on a project;
  2. You will gain valuable insight into how these clauses shift in different types of contracts; and
  3. You will enhance your ability to navigate these clauses on current projects and negotiate more favorable clauses in the future.
