Tax-efficient Exit Strategies: Employee Stock Ownership Plans 101--CANCELLED

Instructors: Keith Apton, Managing Director - Wealth Management & Nick Francia, Managing Director - Wealth Management | The Capital ESOP Group of UBS Financial Services, Inc.

There are many factors that a business owner must consider before making a decision about their succession plan. These considerations include the owner's individual and company-level goals, the different pros and cons of all available exit options, and the tax implications of a sale. An Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) is a powerful tool in succession planning that allows a business owner to sell a portion or all of their stock and defer or with the proper planning avoid the capital gains tax in connection with the sale. It can also provide additional retirement benefits for employees and help align incentives between employees and management. This session will help business owners understand ESOPs and decide if an ESOP could be right for them and their company.

Who should attend? Business owners & executives and other company decision-makers

Why should they attend? What will they learn? After attending this session, participants will have a deeper understanding of how ESOPs work, the different ways ESOPs can be structured to achieve specific goals, and the various ways they can impact a company. They will also understand the tax advantages that an ESOP can offer to both the owner(s) and the company.
