Through its programs, seminars, and publications, ABC of Metro Washington's Safety Committee offers support to member companies who strive to maintain outstanding safety policies, procedures, and practices.
On Friday, ABC of Metro Washington President Debbie Schoonmaker participated in a Washington Board of Trade (BOT) conference call aimed at preparing businesses for how to handle the implications of the H1N1 virus outbreak. As a follow up to that call, the BOT created a website with best practices and resources that may help businesses prepare for the potential pandemic and other emergencies. ABC of Metro Washington advises members to review their own contingency plans and to encourage employees to follow guidelines recommended by health professionals, such as frequently washing their hands. To do our part, we will have hand sanitizer available at this Wednesday’s Business Development Night and, for the time being, at meetings in our offices. We also encourage members to respect individual preferences regarding shaking hands.
