Captain Jeff Pettee was ecstatic to hear that ABC of Metro Washington members had adopted his unit. Jeff’s team has 113 soldiers who served as an Embedded Training Team and Police Mentor Team in the Herat Province of Afghanistan. They oversaw 653 Afghani Army Soldiers and 400 Afghani Police.

Captain Pettee reported that the soldiers were incredibly grateful for all of our support and treats. He said there was extra excitement when a box showed up with the big ABC sticker on it.

Thanks for the packages. So far, we have 14 that arrived here the other day. All the guys on the team like them very much. The packages were gone in a matter of minutes. DVDs are the biggest hit here; during the down time between missions we like to watch movies. That's the biggest thing here. Also Slim Jims, beef jerky, baby wipes, and magazines would be great as well. Please thank the ABC group as well. I will be sending a card in the near future when I get close to a mail office.
