What is the biggest misconception about the industry?
I think there may be two misconceptions. The construction industry can provide great career opportunities for both management and trade persons. Also the use of technology in our industry has really grown over the past 5 to 10 years, with seemingly new innovations each year.
What is your biggest current challenge at work?
Growing our consulting practice. Getting business owners to be willing "take a step back" and look at the company's financial performance. Be willing to examine their income statement to inventory how they mitigate risks, capture & control costs as well as work acquisition approaches.
What project is your company most proud of?
We help companies improve performance and have provided a variety of services to do so, who in turn build projects they are most proud of. As it relates to our consulting efforts, we are proud of the improved results that our clients achieve which typically results in an ONCORE performance and enthusiastic recommendations to new clients.
How does your ABC membership help your company?
I have been involved with ABC since 1988 including the real privilege and honor to serve as Chairman of the Board in 2003. During those years I was able to establish many personal and business relationships that contributed to the growth of my company, before selling ONCORE Construction LLC. In fact those relationships are the primary reasons our new consulting practice is flourishing today.

I was nicknamed "Flash" on my high school football team, because I was not very fast.
What is your favorite metro Washington hangout/restaurant?
Have several favorites to include: Kellari in DC, Basins in Vienna, and recently discovered Eddie V's in Tysons

Snow ski, and play golf (not very good)
