What is the biggest misconception about the industry?
Construction is the 3rd largest industry in the US. The amount of opportunity available is overlooked due to the unglamorous sectors of the industry. I believe that construction and real estate have produced the most millionaires out of any other sector of business.
What keeps you up at night?
Ensuring that Titans Employees are provided for in the best way possible.
What is your biggest current challenge at work?
Currently it is operating in a changing economic environment. The unknowns of our policies that can steer our future success.
What project is your company most proud of?
Every project has is challenges and its wins. There are not true greatest projects, however our first Design Build with Whiting Turner named Park and Ford was a great accomplishment for our Team.
How does your ABC membership help your company?
We have taken advantage of all the resources, including the Apprenticeship Program Training, 401K, Insurance Programs, and networking.
What do you look forward to each day?
Walking in the door to my home and spending time with my family. Building a business takes the majority of the day, so you only have a few hours left to spend with those who you are working so hard to support. That's my why.
What are you like to work for?
I am an open-minded employer who provides freedom to grow and learn within the company. Providing our employees with the resources and tools to manage properly within the roles they are in. I would say fair, empathetic, reasonable and direct.
What is your favorite metro Washington hangout/restaurant?
The Lucy Bar on 14th and Florida. Guilio Adriani has a wonderful place there with excellent food and drinks. Don't take my word for it, stop by and enjoy.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be in the Army. My family was Military, and we moved throughout most of my life. I joined in 1997, stationed in Germany. It turned out to be some of the most important years of my life.
Tell us something no one in the industry knows about you.
I used to be an MMA fighter for 10 years. I trained alongside of UFC, Bellator and many other professional fighters. I am very proud of that time in my life and still support our local fight teams.
What is your favorite movie or TV show?
All the Rocky's and The A Team!
What do you do for fun?
I enjoy going to shows, events and excellent restaurants. Getting into the city and finding new & exciting places.
