What is the biggest misconception about the industry?
That anyone can do it. The truth is it takes many years of training both in the classroom and on the job to become a knowledgeable and skilled electrician. Here at Electrify Electric, we hire the best tradesmen in the business. We encourage all of our employees to not just take mandatory company continuous education classes but to engage in industry-related courses.
What is your biggest current challenge at work?
Our biggest challenge is winning commercial jobs. Electrify Electric has worked very hard to earn our 5-star reviews on Google. The 5-star reviews are reflective mainly of our success in the residential sector. We want to bring that same high level of service, commitment, and success to the commercial world.
What keeps you up at night?
The desire to win! Our staff works very hard to locate and capture opportunities. We’ve found that obtaining feedback via phone call or email on commercial work is rarely available. So, we’re exploring new approaches to partnering. This requires hours of research to understand which companies we would be best suited to team up with. Outreach, strategy sessions, and formal training make for long nights at Electrify Electric.
What project is your company most proud of?
We’re extremely proud of the work we’ve done and are currently engaged in through a partnership with J.J. Worldwide Services to support several military commissaries in the DC Metro area. We have a 100% success rating on our service level agreement to provide support to the commissaries. We take pride in supporting our communities, especially our military communities. “Keeping the lights on” at the commissaries is a top priority for Electrify Electric.
How does your ABC membership help your company?
The things we value the most about our ABC membership are the opportunities to network and meet potential partners. We’ve attended several ABC events and have made new connections each time. We also enjoy that we have access to workforce development and safety information all in one place.
