Join Women Building Washington in partnership with Rebuilding Together Montgomery County for the 2021 SheBuilds event.

Location: Interfaith's Becky's House, Rockville, MD

Becky’s House is a permanent supportive housing program that serves older adult women who suffer from chronic health conditions and were formerly homeless. The group home is located in a lovely residential neighborhood and has 24-hour support staff, as well as a case manager that works individually with residents to coordinate care and help them improve their health and wellness. Our focus with this project will be to renovate the storage shed located directly behind Becky’s House, providing new office space for the program director and case manager. This will make it possible for residents to have more private meetings and medication distribution with staff in the interior office space. The work you complete with RTMC will directly support the efforts of Becky’s House to ensure that the women living there feel as comfortable, supported, and safe as possible.

This project will take place over the course of two days on May 6th and 7th. We are limiting the number of volunteers per day to 13 in order to allow for social distancing and to comply with state guidelines on gatherings. We ask that all volunteers wear a minimum of one face covering (the CDC is now recommending double masking, which we encourage), bring water, and bring work gloves. We will have extra gloves, masks, and sanitizer available.
