Legislation to alter the exemption for specified executive, administrative or professional (EAP) employees from the Maryland Wage and Hour Law was overwhelmingly defeated in the House Economic Matters Committee by a vote of 19-1. ABC strongly opposed the legislation (H.B. 1040). If enacted the bill would have resulted in more workers being eligible for overtime pay.
