Several small and/or minority contractors in Prince George's County are now better prepared to handle bigger projects thanks to their participation in the new Prince George's County Contractor Development Program.
Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Metro Washington was a partner in this program, providing the "Emerging Contractor Reference Manual" to serve as the framework of the program. The Metro Washington Chapter also recruited three members to volunteer to teach 4 of the 12 weekly sessions of the class. The chapter also recruited mentor firms from within the membership to participate in a two-year mentor-protégé relationship with the 10 firms participating in the program.
